Over the past two days, we’ve finished recording two songs: “Moonstruck” and “Haunted.” They’re sounding jawsome!

AND! A member of Team Zissou showed up to record guitar and bass for the band!

In case you missed it a while ago, this is our one-shot music video for “The Darkest Woods,” featuring Zach and two women who just happened to be walking by at precisely the wrong time. Enjoy!

A story. As we were getting into Tacoma around dinner-time (ahead of our show on Saturday), the band was quite hungry. Graham suggested that he’d really like Mexican food, so we went looking for signs indicating such. Only seconds later, Ben exclaimed, “There! That sign says TACO!” After another second or two, he realized his mistake. “TACO…MA BIKE.” There’s ‘TACO…’ things everywhere in that city! This story ends well, though. We DID end up finding some tacos in Tacoma! And all was right in the world.

Oops. Forgot to update this with info about our very first TA-SHOW-MA* prior to the show. I guess we can at least give you a wrap-up, eh?

We played on Saturday night at an AWESOME funky place called Bob’s Java Jive. FUN FACTS: It’s shaped like a coffee pot. Neko Case used to bartend there. They used to have two chimpanzees named Java and Jive that hung out in the bar and used to play drums from time to time.

The bands that joined us (A LeafBlue Skies For Black Hearts, and The Stravinsky Riots) were all excellent, too. Thanks to everybody who came out. It was a real good time!

The poster, beeteedubs, was made by our friend Evan Easthope from the band Land of Pines, etc.

* - “ta-SHOW-ma” : (noun), A show in Tacoma, Washington. Coined by Katrina Charles, brought to our attention by Matt of The Local Strangers.
