"Next up were the adorably geeky Brite Lines… One of (their) drummers had an especially good sense of negative space in his drumming, while those trading on electric guitar eschewed their picks, which produced some very nice tones and unexpected sounds. Lead singer Zach Gore has a great voice and great stage presence, smiling and happy-dancing his way through darkish, folkish songs of love leaving and gone."

"Prior to Learning Team was self-described “electro-Americana” band Brite Lines, a group whose sound is similar to that of Modest Mouse and Future Islands, and vocals reminiscent of The Avett Brothers and even Buddy Holly. Unexpected drum patterns, intricate harmonies, and earnest lyrics, combined with the natural charisma exuded by frontman Zach Gore, made for an unforgettable performance. Adding to that the musicians’ impressive abilities to seamlessly transition between instruments, Brite Lines solidified themselves as an emerging band in Seattle’s music scene."
"Tonight’s bill brings together some of Portland’s most prized musicians with promising up-and-comers from Seattle. Brite Lines’ heart-felt, angsty folk is sprinkled with gentle melodies and wistful lyrics, falling somewhere between Andrew Bird and the Postal Service…"
We should probably get our new RAWK recordings up ASAP!
What a great weekend this has been, though. Killer shows in Portland on Thursday and Seattle on Saturday! So much fun.
"…one of Seattle’s most promising folk rock bands, Brite Lines… I firmly believe Brite Lines, whose frontman Zach Gore brings a level of charisma that can truly elevate material, will be the future of the Seattle folk scene."
